Looking for something in the summer? (Austin, TX)

We’re looking for interns

If you’re graduating this year or a CS major looking for something to do this summer, why not work for a real Silicon-Valley-style startup that’s based in Austin, TX?

Seeing Interactive is

Dedicated to saving local newspapers. Our flagship product, Marketplace, is a local business directory and review site that relies on special market knowledge that only a local newspaper can provide. We’re already serving thousands of customers and would like your help to serve millions. We’re a YC startupfundedramen profitable, and chaotic good.

The Reason You Want to Work Here

You’ve read a dozen other job listings, and they’re all starting to sound the same. If we listed our requirements, you’d be hearing a lot of the same stuff you’ve already heard: Ruby, Rails, MySQL, blah, blah, blah. We’ll spare you.

What we really want is someone who loves to do great work, who loves to hone their craft, and who loves to think.

The Way of the Samurai

Seeing Interactive’s development culture is focused on mastery. No matter how good you are when you come in, it is our goal to make every day a day for self-improvement. Code reviews, pair programming, etudes, show-and-tell — whatever it takes, we want to do it to make you even better at the craft that you love.

Want to Intern?

Write us an E-Mail with “Summer Internship” in the title. Tell us about yourself.  Outline your experience with all of the following:

  • Ruby, Rails, Merb
  • API Integrations and REST
  • JavaScript, XHTML, CSS
  • Redis and MySQL
  • Android and iOS
  • Statistics and Data-mining
  • “Star Trek” fanfic
  • The newspaper industry

Don’t have experience in all of those? That’s fine. Just tell us what you’re good at.

Apply at jobs@seeinginteractive.com.  No resume necessary, but if you have one it might get a few boring questions out of the way.

No recruiters, please.
Seriously, please.
